Okay, I was told that this newest version would keep the Definition files updated.
Well it Doesn't! Today (5/24/2002) I had to stop Vipre, start it again AND click the Check Now button to get the updates installed.
It seems version 83762 of the definition was the last one done. After all previous missed files were installed I'm now at 83956. That's a large amount of files the system didn't upload and install.
I have no patches waiting to be installed, software updates says nothing to install and I have automatic install of Windows updates.
This isn't what I renewed for at the beginning of Feb, 2020. I need this fixed.
If you run into an issue in the future, I'd suggest contacting Support directly so they can look into this for you. Any known issues with definition updates were resolved in our last software update so if you run into any issues, we'll need to look into what might be causing the problem.
I keep getting a message that a new update is available, go through all the steps and oops there was a problem installing new update contact support which is where I'm at now.
Joanne, can you tell me the exact error message that displays? Is there a specific action that it shows is failing?
Earl, Error 1618 means that some other software is in the middle of installing. Windows only allows one installation to happen at a time. If you try the install again and see the same problem, I'd suggest simply restarting the computer and see if this resolves the problem.
Did not work.
Earl, I'd suggest contacting Support directly by calling 877-673-1161 or opening a ticket here:
