When Windows experiences a Stop Error (BSOD), a diagnostic log is automatically created.
Windows will create one of the following Memory Dumps if this occurs:
- Small: Limited information regarding the the crash
Kernel: Contents of memory in-use by the Kernel during the crash
Automatic: Same as Kernel, but size is determined by page-file use
-
Complete: Complete contents of memory during the crash
A Complete Memory Dump is preferred due to the amount of information provided.
