SOLUTION
Are Proxy Settings Enabled in Windows? - Some threats can change proxy settings to prevent updates from working correctly. Here's how to remove those proxy settings:
- Open Internet Explorer (Even if you normally use a different web browser).
- Click Tools > Internet Options.
- Go to the Connections tab.
- Click LAN Settings.
- Uncheck the "Use a proxy server for your LAN" option.
- Click OK.
DNS is not configured correctly - Check your DNS settings. Make sure it is set to "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
- Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
- Click Network Connections from the Control Panel choices.
- Choose your connection from the Network Connections window.
- Click Properties button.
- Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties.
- Click the radio button "Obtain DNS server address automatically", and click "OK".
CAUSE
Some infections may change your internet settings when they are being detected or deleted.
