An Agent's "Heartbeat" is how often the Agent checks in with the Console and is by default set to 5 Minutes.
However, in larger environments, it can be beneficial to ensure this Heartbeat is appropriate for the number of systems reporting into the Console.
Agent Heartbeat Interval Formula:
Number of Agents / 120
5,000 / 120 = 41.6 (42 Minutes)
Changing a Policy's Heartbeat Interval:
- Open the VIPRE Business Console
- Double-Click the desired Policy and select "Communication"
- Change Heartbeat to the Formula's Result
- Apply the changes and select "OK"
