With the latest versions of VIPRE, we leverage newer, more precise detection technology. The increased detection rate, comes with a decreased false positive rate. This means VIPRE is less frequently identifying non-threats as threats. We have also changed our definition of what is a threat, and what that means in regards to Cookies. Cookies were a huge driver of the number of threats found and removed on a machine.

If you are concerned about any sort of vulnerability due to cookies, I would suggest that you configure your browser to delete cookies upon exit. Doing so will ensure that cookies are removed from your system immediately, rather than waiting for a VIPRE scan.
